37. SHORT TERM MISSIONARIES
A. The Committee will develop a program within the church for selecting candidates and matching them with selected short term projects. These people will be chosen and sent by the church. Help will be given applicants to get in touch with approved mission agencies. Application for short term projects must be made to the Committee at least 3 months before departure date, preferably 6 months before.
B. Criteria for Short Term missionaries include; sincere interest in world missions as a possible career; parental support or approval if necessary; completed mission training. Of special help would be Bible school or seminary training and/or knowledge of the language of the country to which one is going.
C. Whenever possible, short term missionaries will be sent out in teams of two or more.
D. Short Term missionaries are expected to provide or raise at least one-half of the necessary funds. The Church may provide up to one-half of the rest from the mission fund, as monies are available. The Short Term missionary is expected to supply as much as possible, in order to receive full value from the experience.
E. Final approval of supporting a Short Term missionary will be a vote of the Mission Committee and Deacon Board.
Thank you for your prayers, support, and involvement in missions at CCC!
In Christ,
Mike Lei
